On Ploshchad Svobody, 2 Gambrinus, the cafe with an excellent and emotional atmosphere, is located. If you have finished getting acquainted with the historical sights of the capital, you can try the best sorts of beer from all over the world and dishes in this gastropub. By the way, its name was not chosen by chance. Gambrinus was the name of the Knight-Duke Jan Primus, who lived in the XIIIth century.
He became famous for active development of brewing business, creating new varieties of this drink. It is of no surprise that Gambrinus is rightly considered the patron of beer! The gastropub is divided into four thematic halls, with each of them offering the visitor an opportunity to get acquainted with the beer culture of a particular capital. In the hall decorated in Celtic traditions, you will find the atmosphere of anglo-saxon fun.
The second hall takes you to the Czech Republic with its particular brewing culture. Hall, dedicated to Belgium, known for 600 beers, is also unlikely to leave anyone indifferent. Finally, the fourth hall is associated with the Danish company Carlsberg, which can be considered a new page in brewing.
While enjoying beers from more than 13 countries, the visitor can also order snacks, meat and fish dishes, but the highlight of the gastropub is the presence of Belarusian cuisine on the menu. So, potato pancakes or bigos, accompanied with fresh beer, are unlikely to leave you indifferent. In addition, there is also a seasonal menu, which presents dishes served in pubs from different countries.
The doors of Gambrinus are open to their visitors from 12 to 00-00 (Sun-Thu) and until 02-00 on Friday and Saturday.
