Chelyuskinitsev Park is one of the many large parks in Minsk. Its construction took place from 1928 to 1932, after it was finished the park received its central status. Chelyuskinitsev Park, located on the site of the Komarovsky forest, has an area of 78 hectares, where you can find various attractions, dance floor, sports equipment, playground and much more.
There are also interesting historical places in the park. For example, in its northeastern part is located the burial place of more than ten thousand people executed by Nazi invaders. The grave has a monument of a grieving woman. Besides, the park itself is interesting as a heritage of landscape architecture. The flora of the southern zone of the park is very different from the flora of the north, but in total there are 22 thousand trees that grow in this area.
The Botanical Garden is adjacent to the Chelyuskinitsev Park itself and is the largest center of flora’s biodiversity conservation in Belarus. The age of the Botanical Garden more than 80 years. Established back in 1931, the garden still continues to open its doors for visitors, while its employees carry out serious scientific activities. There are also several guided tours in the Botanical Garden, but you can walk around it by yourself. 10 alleys with various types of trees planted along them will not leave you indifferent.
The European common spruce alley is the shortest way to the lake located on the territory of the botanical complex. Here you can feed swans or make Shish kebabs in the company. On the territory of the garden you can find sculptural ensembles and a few carousels, but the main highlight is the beauty of primordial nature. A walk through the Botanical Garden is equivalent to a walk through a real forest but in the very city center. Century-old trees stretching to the sun with their leafages harmoniously adjoining with each other are unlikely to leave anyone indifferent.
